SPEAKER’S PROFILE

Kilvar Kessler is a leading financial professional in Estonia with vast and varied experience in finance, having previously studied law and worked as an attorney. He has been the Chairman of the Board of Finantsinspektsioon, the Estonian Financial Supervision Authority, since 2014, and he has guided the organisation in its role of ensuring the smooth functioning of the Estonian financial system. Significant progress has been made under Mr Kessler’s leadership in the regulation and supervision of the financial sector. His dedication has helped strengthen the credibility of the Estonian financial market both domestically and internationally. 

On top of his work in Estonia, Mr Kessler is actively involved in international organisations and collaborative projects for financial market supervisors, and he represents Estonia in various international forums. He has been a member of the supervisory board of the European Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) since it was created. He also lectures as a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the University of Tartu. As an experienced leader in the financial industry, Mr Kessler has extensive knowledge of financial laws and regulations, and he is known for his analytical thinking, strong leadership skills, and strategic vision.
