Antonio Carriero studied mathematics and computer science in Lausanne, Switzerland, and graduated inmathematical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne. He also has aMaster of Science in Information Systems from the HEC of the University of Lausanne. In addition, Antonio completedthe Mastering Technology Enterprise program at IMD Switzerland in Lausanne.Antonio is a highly successful and internationally experienced CTO/CDO in the fields of consumer/luxury retail,financial services, and advertising. Having begun his career in software development and large-scale systemsintegration, in 1998, he set up his own Internet start-up (namics, now part of Dentsu Aegis Network), one of themost successful e-commerce and digital ventures in the DACH region.In 2006, he joined IBM Banking as the Head of Online Retail Banking Technology. After four years, he moved to theRichemont group and led the digital transformation of the group and its Maisons, setting up the multichanneltechnology platform for e-commerce and advanced retail activation. Antonio built and led a team of 300 digitalexperts based in Geneva, Paris, Shanghai, and New Delhi.In 2018, Antonio was appointed Chief Digital and Technology Officer of the independent watch company Breitling SA.In his new position, Antonio is leading the digital transformation of one of the world’s most established watchmanufacturers, shifting the operating model toward customer engagement and empowerment and leveragingdigital and technology with a particular view toward accelerating e-commerce adoption, including with theinnovative activation of the brand store on Tmall in China along with CRM, clienteling, and retail execution.Antonio is a regular guest speaker on the IMD Switzerland Leading Digital and Technology Business Transformationprograms and at international conferences on digital-, luxury-, and technology-related subjects.
