Paris Blockchain Week Awards Community Voting off to Roaring Start

PARIS, Monday March 20th —After announcing its first inaugural Paris Blockchain Week Awards, the Paris Blockchain Week and Partisia Blockchain-powered Awards has kicked off with great success as many have already cast votes for the leading organisations, projects, and individuals across the innovative blockchain sector. Anyone wishing to experience first-hand the power and simplicity of secure, transparent, and fraud-proof e-voting using blockchain can do so right up until the ceremony on the 23rd of March as thought leaders, experts, and innovators from around the globe converge on Paris to attend Europe’s largest industry gathering to converse and move the blockchain and web3 industries forward.

The voting is being carried out on the Paris Blockchain Week’s innovative decentralized app, or DApp, Parti.com, which has simplified the creation or digital asset wallets down to a single click, so anyone anywhere can easily and anonymously vote on chain using tokenised blockchain voting ballots. Every vote is noted on the blockchain and available for public audit—transparent and open. The Paris Blockchain Week Awards voting DApp is an accessible and safe way to collect votes at such an industry-defining event using zero-knowledge technology and does not require blockchain or crypto knowledge or experience.

Nominees for the remaining two categories of the Awards will be announced during Paris Blockchain Week. The People's Choice Award will be chosen from the speakers, debates, and workshops held during Paris Blockchain Week 2023 and nominees announced once the summit begins, with zero-knowledge voting taking place throughout the event. Finally, a panel comprised of the Paris Blockchain Week management team and key sponsors will select the Jury's Choice Award finalists and winner.

Emmanuel Fenet, CEO at Paris Blockchain Week: “We’re very pleased that the voting has started, and the success so further confirms that e-voting is a major use case for blockchain due to its tamper-proof and transparent nature. Voting in this way really brings out the heart of Paris Blockchain Week in showing how this emerging technology can positively impact the world in ways that will make many processes significantly easier and safer. The gathering in just a few weeks will highlight all the organizations and people working diligently to continue making this a reality, and we look forward to seeing what the community has chosen and celebrating the winners at the ceremony on the 23rd March.”

Brian Gallagher, co-founder of Partisia Blockchain and Founder of parti.com, said: “Our privacy-focused, layer one blockchain uses zero-knowledge smart contracts. That makes it ideal for voting. For Paris Blockchain Week, we’ve made it so anyone can log in to vote using their existing social media profiles, in this particular case a Twitter or Discord log-in. This brings the Web2 ease of logging into a Web3 DApp, which is key for wider adoption of Web3 technology. The way it works is that, once you’ve completed the one-step sign-in process, we airdrop your voting tokens into your automatically created Partisia wallet allowing you to vote on-chain!  Next to this, we’ve also picked up everyone's gas fees, so it’s entirely free next to being easy and safe. We’re super happy that Paris Blockchain Week selected us to run the voting, and we’re even happier we could provide such a great use case for everyone to use during the biggest blockchain event in Europe.”

Voting takes place at https://parti.com/ and can be completed right up to the awards ceremony on the 23rd March.  Voting, which is being hailed as the world’s first and largest globally-available mass e-voting experience on blockchain, is open to everyone around the world, regardless of blockchain or crypto experience.

Prizes for the winners of this inaugural edition of the Paris Blockchain Week Awards include:  a custom-designed “phygital” trophy (both physical and NFT) and a dedicated show about their project on i24News “D’Crypt” from partner Davensi Web3Finance, hosted by Jennifer de Broglie.   All nominees will receive custom swag created through a collaboration between parti.com, the official voting DApp, Partisia Blockchain, the official blockchain powering the Paris Blockchain Week Awards, and S.K.R.I.T., the streetwear brand made famous by Lil Durk.
