What is the Paris Blockchain Week Hackathon?

BizThon’s ideology focuses on collaboration between designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and creators to embrace new technology, test ideas before deployment, and more. It’s a sprint-like event where participants create solutions for real-world challenges. By leveraging creativity and technology, participants engage with mentors to develop prototypes, fresh concepts, and other innovative solutions.


Who can participate in the hackathon?

Anyone passionate about blockchain technology and innovation! Whether you’re a developer, designer, entrepreneur, or student, you’re welcome to join. No prior experience in blockchain is required—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!

What are the key dates for the hackathon?

Registration Opens: January 15, 2025 (Online Hackathon)

February 2025: Online Workshops on Solana (Online Hackathon)

15th February 2025: Deadline for Idea Submission (Online Hackathon)

21st February 2025: Deadline for MVP Submission (Online Hackathon)

7th March 2025: Final Results Announcement (Online Hackathon)

Onsite Hackathon Event: April 5–6, 2025, at Paris


How are the projects judged?

Projects will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Innovation: Does it solve a real-world problem in a novel way?

Feasibility: Can it be realistically implemented?

Impact: Does it have the potential for a significant positive impact?

Technical Implementation: How well is it built?


Can I register for both hackathons?

Yes! You can register for both editions separately since they have different registration processes.

If you win in the online edition, you’ll receive a €10,000 prize pool and a slot to present at PBW in Paris. However, you won’t be able to compete in the onsite hackathon.

If you don’t win in the online edition, you’re still eligible to register and participate in the onsite edition in Paris.

Can I win prizes in both editions?

No, you can only win in one edition. If you win in the online edition, you’ll receive the €10,000 prize pool and a slot at PBW in-person in Paris, making you ineligible for the onsite hackathon. If you don’t win in the online edition, you can still register and compete in the onsite edition in Paris.

How will I receive the prize money?

Online Edition: Prizes will be distributed via online payment methods after verification.

Onsite Edition: Prizes will be transferred after the event.

Will airfare and accommodation be covered for onsite participants?

No, we Paris Blockchain Week nor BizThon will provide airfare or accommodation for onsite participants at any stage.


Is the competition format the same in both editions?

No. Paris Blockchain Week nor BizThon will not provide airfare or accommodation for onsite participants at any stage.

How will mentorship work?

Online Edition: A series of workshops and mentor sessions will be available both online through the BizThon platform You can participate by registering through the BizThon platform and by registering on the Luma events we will create and update in the workshop section of this website.

Onsite Edition: Get in-person mentorship from experts and industry leaders to refine your project and gain valuable insights.

What is the prize money for both editions?

Both the Online Edition and Onsite Edition have a total prize pool of €10,000 for the Ripple track and for the Solana track. Each opened track has its respective prize pool.
